Community Service Projects

The Girls for a Change core committee participate in a wide variety of community service projects each year.

This year core committee members improved the trail bed ofthe Triple Tree Trail with the Gallatin Valley Land Trust. At the annual conference girls participated in workshops about the benefits of volunteering and the many volunteering options both locally and internationally. The girls hauled, raked and shoveled more that 2 cubic yards of dirt and gravel! In March the girls made necklaces that will be sold to help support women in Afghanistan.

In 2009-2010, GFAC raised $500 for the Uganda Orphans Fund by selling necklaces. We also collected books for the Magic Yeti Library at this year’s annual conference. And in September, members of the core committee completed a trail maintenance project with the Gallatin Valley Land Trust.

In recent years, GFAC has worked on previous projects with the Gallatin Valley Land Trust, participated in Christmas gift-wrapping at Barnes & Noble, and repainted the local women’s shelter.
