2012 Girls for a Change Conference-100% Possible*Contents May Settle but Never for Less

The 2012 Girls for a Change Conference at Montana State University in Bozeman was a great success!!!

2012 Conference keynote speaker Dr. Waded Cruzado

We were so pleased to have Montana State University President Dr. Waded Cruzado as our keynote speaker!  Dr. Cruzado is the first woman and first minority to serve as a university president in the State of Montana.  Her commitment to teaching and volunteer service was such an inspiration for all Montana girls and is a great example of what is 100% Possible in your life.  Click here to read more information about our keynote!

We had a variety of workshops available to our conference attendees throughout the day including money management, bollywood dancing, writing activities, exploring personalities, japanese drumming, healthy cooking, money management, stress management, wind energy, nontraditional careers for women plus many more!!!

The opening of the conference focused on helping girls identify their human capital including their unique  inherent assets and how building on these helps them define what is 100% Possible in their lives.

Denise Juneau, Opening Address

The Opening Address was provided by Denise Juneau, State Superintendent of Public Instruction.  She had the girls take the pledge to graduate, as part of her statewide Graduation Matters initiative. The closing of the conference included activities that showed girls that because of those assets they have the power to give back to their community. They learned that a philanthropist is anyone who gives  time, money, experience, and/or skills to create a better world.  Girls now have an opportunity to  take their personal gifts back to their communities and  apply for a mini grant provided by First Interstate BancSystem Foundation. This will give them the tools they need to create positive change in their respective communities. Through this process they will gain real philanthropic experience by participating in the entire granting process from submitting an application to final reporting about their projects.  This ended the day with the girls knowing what is 100% Possible in their communities!
