The 2009 theme was “Courage to Climb.” We asked girls what “courage” means to them. Here’s what they had to say:
- “Courage is the ability to do what’s right instead of what’s acceptable.”
- “Courage isn’t a lack of fear. It’s overcoming your fears to do what’s right for you and for others!”
- “Courage is to step from beyond your reaches to experience something new and worth while.”
- “Courage is understanding people who are different than you.”
- “Courage is keeping together after all that life throws you.”
- “Courage is being strong enough to say YES.”
- “Courage is doing what scares you most.”
