We would like to thank our 5 wonderful outgoing board members for their time and dedication to Thrive. They have contributed so much to the success of Thrive’s programs over the years and have truly made an impact on our local families and children.
A very special thanks to our long time outgoing board members:
Chris Penor- 8 years, has served as a member of the Thrive Board of Directors since 2001. He acted as the board treasurer from 2002 to 2005 when he became vice president. Chris has been the board president since October 2007. Chris is the founder of Penor & Associates CPAs PC, a Bozeman Certified Public Accounting firm serving southwest Montana. Chris and his wife Laurie have two girls, PJ and Christa. When not working on Thrive board projects, he enjoys hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with good friends and family.
Gloria Gregg- 6 years, served as a member of the Thrive Board of Directors since October of 2003, Gloria A. Gregg has been a CAP mentor with the same young man for six years. They started together when he was in the first grade at Hawthorne School. She is a retired Associate Professor of Education from MSU where she worked for 29 years. Gregg was the secretary on the Board. Owner of an antique business with space in one of the antique malls near Gallatin Gateway, she loves going to auctions and doing considerable research to find out the background of items she buys. She also loves to travel and has worked in and/or visited fourteen different countries throughout the world
Matt Johnson- 4 years, served as the Treasurer for THRIVE Board of Directors and has been a CAP Mentor for the past eight years. Matt is a Branch Manager and Vice-President with First Interstate Bank here in Bozeman. He and his wife Laura are very involved in their church and are busy raising three daughters of their own outside of work.
Jim Verzuh- 4 years, is the Director of Marketing at BioScience Laboratories, Inc. Jim is also an adjunct instructor in Marketing at Montana State University. Jim is a Montana native and enjoys biking, fishing, hiking and snowboarding in the great outdoors of Southwest Montana.
Sydney Rick- 3 years, an agent with The Prudential Insurance Company of America, Newark NJ, and its affiliates in Bozeman, MT, joined the Board of Directors in April 2007. Sydney escaped from the humidity and mosquitoes of the Midwest (SD and MN) to discover Bozeman in 2002 with her husband, Dan, and chocolate lab, Delilah Jones. She appreciates the many opportunities that the mountains,rivers and back roads of Montana have to offer, particularly skiing and fly-fishing. Sydney has also been a CAP Mentor for the past 6 years.
